There are several things to consider when working out what size marquee is required for your event:
1. The space available:
How big is your backyard?
Are you having your event in a park?
Is your wedding on the beach or foreshore?
The space you have available is the main factor in determining the size of marquee for your event. Please be aware that we do require at least 1 metre of vacant space on one side of the marquee for installation. Please be aware of the space you will be putting the marquee in regard to grass, pavement and reticulation. If you are having your event in a public open space, you will require building permits which can be obtained from your local council. This is something we can do as a service.
2. The number of guests you wish to cover:
Are you having a sit-down meal?
Are you having a cocktail style wedding?
Are you seated at round tables/trestle tables?
On average, you require 0.9sqm of space per quest in a standing room situation eg. cocktail style wedding. When seated at round tables of 10 you need to allow 3sqm per table (this includes seating space).
3. The set-up of your event:
Do you require a bridal table?
Are you having a buffet?
Is your dance floor inside or outside the marquee?
Do you require a veranda for pre-dinner drinks?
When choosing your marquee please allow a minimum of 3.6m for your dance floor. A bridal table requires at least 2m in width from the wall for seating and movement behind the table. Will you require a separate marquee for your caterers and all their equipment?
